About your Tutor
Hi there!
My name is Alyssa Hampton and I’d like to help enrich your relationship with Mathematics. Motivated by my own experience as a non-traditional learner, I’m interested in helping students see math as a language. Taking this sort of non-traditional approach to help students “read, write and speak” math will help support a more intuitive understanding of its abstract nature.
While a linguistic approach to math is at the heart of the Mathlogica program, visual (geometric) explanations work to support student understanding as well. This unique perspective sheds light on the art of math and often helps to support students with AD/HD diagnoses as well as other conditions related to a student’s neurodiversity.

Mathlogica is a travelling business in Anchorage, working primarily in the homes of students across town.

Starting rate:
$40/hour
Other fees may apply and will be determined on an individual basis.
